Hayley is on the cover of the newest issue of Rock Sound. The cover photo and other new photos in the magazine were taken by Lindsey Byrnes during a photoshoot at her home last year. You can see HQ versions of the photos in our gallery.
In this month’s issue, Rock Sound put together a list of the most influential, inspirational, important people in today’s scene – The Rock Sound 50. Hayley is number one on that list and the magazine includes a special interview with her, you can read it from the scans in our gallery, or below (click to enlarge). She talks about what it means to be influential in 2016, her experiences of growing up in a male-dominated and extremely public setting and what the future holds for her and Paramore.
According to the magazine Paramore’s 5th album is expected to be released in early 2017.
“Life can be pretty crazy sometimes, but there’s light at the end of the tunnel right now, and we’ll be back out there at the end of it. Life is a journey that is about finding your place and your purpose, and finding out what means the most to you, and following it with everything that you have. That’s something that I hope nobody – myself included – loses sigh of.”
Photographer David McClister has released new photos from the photoshoot he did with Hayley for Billboard in 2014 and also one new photo from the photoshoot with Hayley and Chad for Alternative Press last year. Go to our gallery to see HQ photos from both photoshoots.

Hayley also joined the cruise’s other bands onstage. She performed ‘Vicious Love’ with New Found Glory, ‘Bury It’ with Chvrches and ‘Fox’s Dream of the Log Flume’ and ‘All Circles’ with mewithoutYou.
During the Q&A Hayley told that she would have liked to study criminology if she had gone to college, Taylor geeked out on Radiohead and both of them seemed very warm to the idea of a third Parahoy! Cruise. Hayley said she’d love to have twenty one pilots join them. Taylor stuck to Thom Yorke… and Enya and Kenny G.
When asked about her bucket list goals for the year, Hayley replied, “Make a fifth record.”

The band played 20 songs setlist, including ‘Hallelujah’ with a Leonard Cohen cover and ‘O Star’ which haven’t been played in years. During ‘Misery Business’ two fans and one of our admins, Lidia got on stage to sing with the band!
During the performance Hayley introduced the whole band and new bassist Joey Howard. She also thanked everyone that’s ever played with Paramore and said that the band will be focusing on writing the next album after the cruise. You can read some of her stage speechs below.
“This past year has been a year that for me, I never want to relive again. At the same time, I would do it again if it meant understanding what having a real friend in this life feels like. Taylor, thank you so much for being awesome.”
About the band’s former members:
“It is an honor to play music with all the people that are here. It’s been an honor to play music with Josh, with Zac, with Jeremy, everyone that’s ever played with Paramore. It’s such an honor, to have friendship and music rolled into one thing… only god can do that. I’m just glad it’s not over because I want to keep doing it.”
About being the kindest version of herself in her 27th year:
“People in life will sometimes take your kindness for weakness. But the bigger lesson is to not let that stop you from being kind.”
About the new album:
“We’ve been — to be honest — a lot slower than I thought we would be. Sometimes life happens…. I took a Twitter break. It was great; you should try it some time. We’re gonna go on and make a record for ya… We’ll keep you posted.”
About playing ‘O Star’:
“We’ve never really played this ever, I don’t think.”
Describing how ‘O Star’ came together:
“At this point, I’m in the band, we’d written “Conspiracy,” we definitely thought we were going to get a record deal with Tooth & Nail Records, or something. Because Aaron was on Tooth & Nail, that’s what we wanted. And then Taylor and I got together for the first time after school and wrote for the first time ever. He was 12 years old, I think I’d just turned 13… We wrote this song pretty quickly.”
