LJ Post [*stares blankly at the subject box* ]

[ mood | awake ]
[ music | birds chirping… ]

it’s 8am. haven’t seen this hour in a long time. i stayed up all night writing… randomly checking my email, as if anyone sends me emails at 4am, and occasionally, signing online to see if maybe – JUST MAYBE – a friend would also be suffering from insomnia. no such luck. oh well, i did write a few things that i thought were alright.

honestly, i’m just anxious to get into the studio. we start next sunday. we’ll actually be heading to california instead of keeping to our original plan to make the record here at home… which is a-okay! in fact, i’m pretty pumped to be getting out of the sloppy weather we’ve had here in franklin. as most of you know by now, we’ll be making the record with mr. Rob Cavallo… we’re very excited!!! it’s gonna be a good time. we’ll be keeping you guys as updated as possible from the studio. i know brandon (videographer) is gonna be out there with us.. that should be interesting. to say the least!

and that’s about all i have to tell you guys. we’re a week away from making our 3rd full length record.

love,
another victim of insomnia’s death grip. (hayley).

ps. help.

all the songs are really coming together. we’re having a lot of fun writing. and writing. and writing.
i’ve been listening to a lot of random music lately… getting inspired and blowing my ear drums out in the car… teehee! check it out! maybe there’s something here you’ve never heard before:

The Impossibles – Anthology (these guys were on FBR back in the day)
Lemuria – Get Better (3 piece from brooklyn, female vox, nostalgic)
The Angels – My Boyfriend’s Back (oldies but goooodies)
Notorious B.I.G. – Life After Death (i still haven’t seen the film… *punches self in the face*)
Operation Ivy – Operation Ivy (catchiest songs i’ve ever heard… ok, besides “crush” by david archuletta, haha!)
The Swellers – demos upon demos (their new record is going to save your life)
Trapped Under Ice – Stay Cold (hardcore from baltimore)
Hole – Live Through This (sexy)
Morrissey – Years Of Refusal (nothing about this dude can be contained inside parentheses).

and my friend Ashley – who you might know from PF.com – just sent me some music
from her friend’s band Sleeper and the Sleepless. (2 girls with acoustic guitars… killer lady voices).

alright — hope you find something in that list that you can enjoy!

what are you guys listening to right now?

love, hayley

hey guys…

by the way, i’m sure this seems obligatory and possibly too predictable but New Found Glory’s new record “Not Without A Fight” comes out tomorrow. besides having a sliiight crush on one of them, all those guys are great friends of mine and i’m super excited for them. they did such an amazing job making this record… (that means you too, Mark!) and i can’t wait for people to hear it! so pick it up tomorrow… or meet chad and i at Target on La Brea and Santa Monica in Los Angeles tomorrow at 11am and we will all buy it together.

love you guys, can’t wait to be on tour again!!!

New LJ Posts from Josh!

…….

I miss you guys so much….seriously.
will be posting a blog shortly! much much love!
Josh

heres a little taste of the China trip Zac and I went on!

China….and other stuff.

Hey guys,
Wow its been forever! I apologize for that. No excuses there. I know I already said it, but I miss you guys a lot! I miss touring in general a ton. But I am stoked on this new record. Its going to be amazing. We’ve been in the studio for about a week just writing and it’s sounding GREAT! Cant wait for you guys to hear it. Please be praying for us. We have a HUGE time crunch for this record because we are heading out on the No Doubt tour, which is so sweet!
As for China many of you were wondering why Zac and I went. Well I will tell you right now :). There is an orphanage over in the city of Lou Yang called “Maria’s Big House of Hope”. I dont know if any of you are familiar with the artist, Steven Curtis Chapman, but it was started by him and his wife basically. The building is named after, Maria Chapman, who they lost recently to a car accident. The most beautiful thing is that because Maria passed.. the building is carrying on her legacy in a way and is going to save hundreds of orphans. Its amazing what God can do through one person/family. Its an orphanage that takes in special needs children and they operate them. After operating on them they keep then until hopefully a family adopts them. What Zac and I (and a few other friends) went over to do is finish up the orphanage. They had a room full of cribs and beds that needed assembled for the kids before it opened. So we volunteered to help! Along with doing that we visited other orphanages and just hung out with the most beautiful children ever. It was really heart breaking to see them so happy having so little. It really was hard leaving knowing that I was going back to my comfortable home with my big family and I was leaving them there with no one. Of course they have nannies and each other but thats nothing compared to real family. It really was a life changing experience and I hope to go again very very soon. I dont know what you all are doing with your lives, but I would highly encourage you to consider going… not necessarily to China but to some orphanage just to go love on kids. They need it.
So yea, that’s basically it… I’ve got to run because its practice time and I am late!! yikes! I will be posting more frequently, I promise. See ya guys!
