Hayley was at New Found Glory’s ‘One More Round’ music video shoot in Los Angeles on February 1st. Go to our gallery to see few new photos from the shooting. Below two new videos of Hayley, Chad and other New Found Glory members with Lloyd Kaufman on the set of the video.
TromaMovies posted a behind the scenes video from the shoot. Hayley can be seen in the beginning. Watch the video below.
On Air with Ryan Seacrest interviewed Hayley over the phone this morning. They talked about her engagement, Taylor Swift’s Twitter hack and Paramore’s Grammy nomination. You can read and listen the whole interview below.
Being on Twitter so much paid off for Hayley Williams earlier this week when she was the first to notify Taylor Swift that she had been hacked by a group called the Lizard Squad. Soon after Taylor regained control of her account on Tuesday, she gave the Paramore singer a shout-out, calling her “the MVP of the day.”
“It’s really a terrible award to win,” joked Hayley about her self-confessed Twitter obsession when she called in to On Air with Ryan Seacrest on Friday morning. “At first, I was like, ‘I don’t know, maybe she’s just being extra kind to this person that has zero followers.’ And then I was searching that person’s profile for a second — as I do because I’m the queen lurker — and it was really weird. Some of the stuff they were saying I knew there was no way Taylor would promote this or that. So I texted her, ‘Unless you have a best friend Lizard or something …’”
Another award she (and the rest of Paramore, guitarist Taylor York and bassist Jeremy Davis) may soon win: a Grammy for Best Rock Song for “Ain’t It Fun.”
“I’m so pumped!” gushes Hayley of the accolade. “We’ve had nominations before, but this one, man, I’m so psyched we got a nomination for this album … It’s been just a really special time for the guys and I. “When the Grammy announcements were happening, I was in Italy,” she continues. “And I was like, ‘Yeah, there’s no way we’re getting a nomination. Like, I just feel like I would have heard something.’ And then I found out on Twitter — because, again, I’m always on Twitter — and I flipped out and we celebrated. I was with my boyfriend, fiancé now. We had lasagne … It was such a cool day.”
Hayley is probably going to have a lot more days like that now that she’s set to marry her boyfriend of seven years, New Found Glory guitarist Chad Gilbert. He proposed over the holidays and the two dropped their big news on New Year’s Eve with this amazingly-Photoshopped announcement:
Although it took seven long years before they decided to make it official, Hayley reveals she knew Chad was The One almost immediately.
“I would dare to say I knew pretty early on, but you know, life happens,” she explains. “And I feel it’s been really good for us to go on tour, continue our careers and work really hard and do what we love and support each other for the last seven years. I really feel like I know him 100 percent. I was telling my family the day after we got engaged, I just had such a peace. There was no weird doubting or questions because we’ve known each other for a really long time now. It’s very rewarding to be at this point now in my life and to have him and our relationship.”
Taylor has been on vacation with friends this week! He has been spending time in New Zealand with Zac Farro and other friends too, they have been at least in Auckland and yesterday at Festival One in Hamilton. Go to our gallery to see new photos with friends and fans.
Paramore announced they will be going on tour in the US this spring. In their own words, Writing The Future is not a tour, but a series of intimate evenings of music with Paramore and their long-time friends, Copeland. The band wrote a little blog post to go with the announcement, read it on their site or below:
It feels right to bring the Self-Titled era to a close. We’ve had a very personal and hugely triumphant journey with this one. What wouldn’t feel right is saying goodbye to this time in the band’s career and not celebrating it with our fans in some special way. So we’ve decided to do one last little run with it. Smaller shows, beautiful theaters…and we’re not calling it a tour, by the way. Each night will be a little event, or as we said just a few seconds ago, a celebration. As we acknowledge the past few years (and more) of everything we’ve been through together, we’re also looking forward together at all there is to come.
Another way we want to celebrate our journey thus far, is to bring out a band who helped us in our most humble, playing 500 beats faster than we should, terrible hair, beginning. We might’ve never gained any traction on the road had they not allowed us on their tour almost exactly 10 years ago. So if you’re coming to one of these shows make sure to get there early for Copeland.
Lastly, thank you to anyone and everyone who made this album a milestone in Paramore’s career and in each of our lives. We started this journey 3 years ago, desperate for any sort of future at all! Now we are standing taller, more confident, knowing that we are the ones who write our own future. This means you too.
